Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect certain information when you use our service:

• Session Data: A session identifier stored in a cookie to maintain your login state and track your clip history
• Usage Data: Information about how you use our service, including videos processed, clips created, and thumbnails downloaded
• Technical Data: Browser type, device information, and IP address

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain our service (video trimming, thumbnail downloading)
• Process your video trimming and thumbnail download requests
• Store your download history for authenticated users
• Enforce daily usage quotas and prevent abuse
• Improve and optimize our service
• Respond to your inquiries and support requests

Data Storage & Retention

Clips: Guest clips are deleted after 1 hour; signed-in user clips are deleted after 12 hours. We do not permanently store your processed videos.

Thumbnails: Thumbnail images are proxied directly to your browser and are not stored on our servers. We log thumbnail download metadata (video ID, timestamp) for analytics.

Download History: Authenticated users' download history is retained in their account. Guest download data is not persisted.

Cookies: We use essential cookies for session management and authentication. These cookies expire after 7 days of inactivity.

Daily Usage Quotas

To ensure fair usage and service availability for all users, we implement daily duration quotas:

• Signed-in Users: 30 minutes of total clip duration per day
• Guest Users: 15 minutes of total clip duration per day (tracked by IP address)

Quotas reset automatically at midnight. We track IP addresses for guest quota management to prevent abuse and ensure service availability.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Video Platforms: We access public video information and thumbnails from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, Vimeo, Reddit, Twitch, and 1000+ other platforms. Your use of content from these platforms is subject to their respective Terms of Service.
• Google OAuth: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture. We do not access any other Google data.
• Stripe: Donation payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment information.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encrypted sessions, secure password hashing, and regular cleanup of temporary files.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Update your profile information at any time
