Information You Provide

When you use Cutizy, you may provide us with:

• Links to videos on supported platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, Vimeo, Reddit and Twitch), with the time range, format and quality you choose
• Account information if you sign up: your name and email address, a password (stored only as a secure hash), or your Google profile (name, email and profile picture) if you sign in with Google, and the language you want our emails in
• Media you add to the video editor (videos, audio and photos) and the projects you build with it
• Subscription details if you upgrade to Pro, and the optional reason you give if you cancel
• Your name, email address and message if you contact us through the contact form

Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect certain information when you use our service:

• Session data: a session identifier stored in a cookie once you sign in, to keep you signed in
• Usage data: the clips you create (video link, title, platform, time range, format and quality), the thumbnails you download, your editor exports, the minutes you use each day and the date of your last sign-in
• IP address: recorded with the clips, download history entries and thumbnail downloads of visitors without an account, with contact form messages, and to count the daily quota of visitors who are not signed in
• Browser information: your browser's user agent, recorded with thumbnail downloads and contact form messages, and used with other request headers to apply rate limits

Advertising: some pages (the home page, features, about and our guides) show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information from your browser, such as your IP address and the pages you visit, to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud. See Third-Party Services. Account, tool and payment pages show no ads. We do not use analytics tools.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide our service: download, trim and deliver your clips, download thumbnails, and render your video editor exports
• Show your download history and let you download or re-trim your clips while they are available
• Apply your plan's limits, daily quotas and rate limits, and prevent abuse
• Manage your Pro subscription and payments
• Send the emails described in Emails We Send
• Respond to your inquiries and support requests
• Monitor the service and fix problems: we receive internal notifications about new accounts, subscriptions and payments, contact messages, completed or failed clips and editor exports, which can include your name, email address and the title of the video

We do not sell your personal information.

If you have an account, we send you:

• Account and service emails: email verification, password reset, a welcome email, notices when a clip is ready or has failed, and a confirmation when you subscribe to Pro
• Activity emails: a weekly recap if you created clips during the week, and an occasional reminder if you have not used Cutizy for 30 days. These are on by default; you can turn them off in your account settings or with the unsubscribe link in each email
• Announcements: occasional messages about important changes to Cutizy, sent to all verified accounts

We keep a log of the emails we send (recipient, subject and delivery status) with no fixed deletion date. It stays after you delete your account, no longer linked to it; you can ask us to delete it.

To ensure fair usage and service availability for everyone, we apply daily limits to the total duration of the clips you create:

• Visitors without an account: 9 minutes per day, counted by IP address
• Free accounts: 15 minutes per day
• Pro subscribers: 6 hours per day

Quotas reset automatically at midnight. We use the IP address of visitors without an account to count their quota, prevent abuse and produce service statistics.

We rely on the following service providers, who process data on our behalf or when you interact with them:

• Video platforms: we fetch public video information, thumbnails and media from the platform of the link you submit. Your use of that content is subject to the platform's own terms.
• Google sign-in: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We do not access any other Google data.
• Stripe: processes Pro subscription payments and donations. Stripe receives your payment details directly; we store only your subscription status, billing period and invoice records, never your full card number.
• Amazon Web Services (SES): delivers our emails.
• Cloudflare R2: stores clip files and video editor media and exports for the periods described above.
• Railway: hosts our servers and databases.
• Telegram: delivers the internal notifications described above to our team.
• Google AdSense: shows ads on some of our pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and other sites on the Internet. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
• Google: Google Fonts serves some of our fonts, and the YouTube player plays YouTube previews on the clip page. These services receive your IP address, and the YouTube player may set its own cookies.

Some of these providers are located in the United States or other countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. This includes encrypted connections, secure session cookies, password hashing, private file storage with time-limited download links, and regular deletion of temporary files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you: contact us and we will send you a copy
• Update your name, password and email language at any time in your account settings
• Delete clips from your download history
• Turn off activity emails in your account settings or through the unsubscribe link
• Delete your account. If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it first. Deleting your account removes your profile, clip records, download history and thumbnail download records. Payment, subscription and email delivery records are kept for accounting but are no longer linked to your account. Clip files and editor media already stored are deleted when they expire, as described above.
• Clear the editor's local data from the editor settings, and clear cookies and site data in your browser
• Turn off personalized ads in Google's My Ad Center, or change your ad consent choices where we ask for them
• Ask us to delete your contact form messages or other information we hold about you

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us.

Our service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
